Hi, I’m Michelle, your friendly neighborhood baker!

I like to say my baking journey officially started in the spring of 2019, but I’ve always loved making sweet treats, which stemmed mostly from my gigantic sweet tooth. Before I started charging for my baked goods, I would bake for fun, for friends and family, and of course that meant compiling tins of Christmas cookies and giving them away. Finally, one of my good friends suggested that I start baking as more than just a hobby and a few months later, Desserts by Danaj was born!

I’ve always loved bringing joy to others through what I can create, and baking beautiful (and tasty!) creations is no exception! When I stumble on a flavor combination that I really like, I become obsessed, and make it over and over to create a perfect recipe I can call my own.

When my hands aren’t covered in cookie dough, they’re usually typing away at my day job where I work as an office manager in the College of Arts and Letters at MSU. I like to say I’m a jack of all trades - I have experience working in childcare, state government, the service industry, and even college financial aid! In my free time, I like to take my dog Fuzzy out for walks, spend time outdoors either hiking or kayaking, or getting lost in a good book.
